HG73 House R

Tanum, Sweden 2024.

The house is located on a gentle slope at the foot of a hill, nestled between agricultural fields and a grove. The setting allows for the creation of a courtyard on the entrance side, while the opposite side opens out towards views of the surrounding fields. From here, the owners can see their family farm, now managed by one of their children.

The house features eaves designed to respond to the changing seasons. In summer, they provide shade, helping to keep the interior cool. In winter, when the sun is lower, the eaves allow sunlight to enter, bringing warmth and light to the rooms.

Inside, the walls are panelled and painted white to reflect the natural light that enters through carefully positioned windows. The combination of window placement, white surfaces, and eaves creates a balance between light, shade, and views. This design results in spaces that feel bright and remain connected to the surrounding landscape.
